DEPARTMENTAL PROFILE
The Department of Computer Science at Rajganj College, Jalpaiguri, commenced its journey in the academic session 2024-2025. This new addition aims to foster a dynamic learning environment for students with a strong passion for technology and computer science.
With a well-structured curriculum and cutting-edge resources, the department aims to offer a solid foundation in Computer Science along with an essential focus on Mathematics, providing students with a well-rounded education in both theoretical and practical aspects of the field.
About the Department:
The Department of Computer Science at Rajganj College, Jalpaiguri, embarked on its academic journey in the session 2024-2025 with a commitment to providing quality education in the rapidly evolving field of computer science. With the aim to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the tech-driven world, the department offers an innovative and hands-on approach to learning.
The department is equipped with 10 desktops, offering students the opportunity to gain practical experience and engage in various computational tasks. These workstations are complemented by digital circuit kits, ensuring that students not only develop theoretical knowledge but also gain a deep understanding of hardware concepts and digital circuit design.
The curriculum has been designed to provide a strong foundation in core computer science areas such as programming, data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and computer networks, while also introducing students to emerging fields like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cybersecurity.
With modern infrastructure and a focus on practical learning, the Department of Computer Science at Rajganj College is poised to shape the future of its students, preparing them for a wide array of career opportunities in technology and related fields.
Professor specializing in Bengali novels and short stories, along with Susmita Guha, Dr. Shivnarayan Routh, and Mamoni Roy, who also specialize in novels and short stories, enrich the department with their extensive research and literary insights. Three of these dedicated faculty members have completed their PhDs, one has completed her registration and is currently pursuing her PhD, and one faculty member is engaged in postdoctoral research at the University of Calcutta.
These teachers rigorously engage in academic platforms, contributing to conferences, publishing in scholarly journals, and staying at the forefront of Bengali literary studies. Their active involvement in the academic community ensures that students are exposed to the latest research and developments in the field, enhancing the overall educational experience.
