Discrimination against any person on the grounds of his/her disability, religion or gender status is a gross violation of universally accepted principles of equality and human rights. Equal Opportunity Cell was set up by Rajganj College in March 2023, to address the issues concerning Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class and Persons with Disabilities, among the staff and students.
Its purpose is to monitor the efficient execution of the policies and programmes for all the college’s vulnerable groups. The basic aim of the Equal Opportunity Cell is to ensure that students and faculty belonging to various diverse backgrounds of community, religion, region, gender or ability are not deprived of their basic opportunities. Its goals are to ensure diversity in the student, faculty, and staff communities and to Safeguard the interest of students without any prejudice to their caste, creed, religion, language, ethnicity, gender and disability. and the main objective is to disseminate the information related to schemes, programs, notifications/memoranda, office orders of the Govt., related to welfare of target groups from time to time.
The college is dedicated to fostering diversity and achieving lively, inclusive growth for all of its sections through equal opportunity, knowledge creation, and dissemination.
To achieve all these goals, the Equal Opportunity Cell conducts seminars, workshops, guest lectures, activities, and awareness programmes from time to time on issues of contemporary significance and importance.
